Initiative Petition 9 (IP 9) is the statewide campaign finance reform measure proposed for the November 2024 ballot by a coalition of good government groups, including Honest Elections Oregon and the League of Women Voters of Oregon.
Initiative Petition 42 (IP 42) is a competing statewide measure proposed by Our Oregon. It appears similar to IP 9 and copies about 95% of IP 9. But IP 42 then drastically changes the legal effect by inserting huge loopholes to the contribution limits, disclosure requirements, and tagline requirements.
